How do you feel when someone goes to your sales page, adds to cart, and ends up not buying? The first thing that comes to my head is “ what happened?” “ I wish I could ask if she/he has any questions!”. We spend so much time working on getting our audience to engage with us and buy our products that many times we forget there are people who are very close to becoming our customers. But for some reason, they decide not to click the shop button and end up leaving our site without buying.
Seeing high cart abandonment rates is definitely frustrating especially because many times we don’t know the reason behind it. Being able to find the reason why customers decide not to buy, will help us optimize our offers and conversion rates.
Today I’m going to teach you how to get people who are abandoning your cart to ask you questions through Facebook messenger before the buy.
Start by setting up an audience for people who are reaching your cart and another audience for people who reached your thank you page. You can do this by going to Audiences -> Custom Audience -> Website
When creating the campaign, set up the objective as Messenger. Go to ad set level and optimize for “click to messenger”. Include the audience of people who have reached your cart and exclude the audience of people who reached your thank you page.

Under Ads, you can create a custom message asking your customer if they have any questions about your product or service.
